The SCTA has won the American Telemedicine Association (ATA)'s President’s Award for Transformation of Health Care Delivery. The ATA cited that the SCTA has "demonstrated exceptional character, leadership along with continued service to the association and telehealth industry." From the ATA: "The President’s Award for the Transformation of Healthcare Delivery recognizes the leadership of an organization that incorporates virtual healthcare services (i.e., telehealth) as part of an initiative resulting in improved quality and better value healthcare for a large population of patients. Consideration for this award will factor impact on the population served, including:-Special needs groups-Academic output such as peer-reviewed research and presentations-Targeted education programs-Number of sites-Business case or business model-Long-term sustainability-Effective partnerships and collaborationOur submission included the 2017 Annual Report, 2018 Strategic Plan, quarterly reports and letters of support from the Medical University of SC, the SC Department of Mental Health, Palmetto Health and McLeod Health. The award will be presented to SCTA leaders during the ATA Leadership Dinner being held during the ATA 2019 Annual Conference and Expo at the Ernest N.
